This was our second trip to the Idyllwild Inn. We like the location as it is walking distance to the restaurants and shops. We had cabin 4 which is... read more a two bedroom cabin that will sleep 6 people. There was a kitchen that had a stove, refrigerator, microwave oven and coffee pot. The cabin was clean and large and there was a large deck on the back side. There was a fireplace, which we did not use, as it was hot the weekend we were there. There is a forced heating unit for the winter time. The only negative about the cabin was that there was no air conditioner. There were three fans in a closet that we put into the windows to circulate the air, but it was not enough. When we would come back to the room in the late afternoon, after a hike or walk, it was hot. We will not stay at the hotel during the heat of the summer again. We will go back at another time of the year, when it is cooler.

We had so much snow we even decided to stay another day. We always come up for Presidents weekend and continually to Idyllwild Inn. Josh was out plowing the snow and it kept coming down!
The cabins are warn and cozy, just what you need in the kitchen to make meals. TV, big fireplace . Great place for some R&R. We’ve stayed in other cabins up here but this is the nicest place, I highly recommend the Idyllwild Inn. Just don’t take my cabin # 5 on Presidents weekend!

We made fires every night in the fireplace and would leave peanuts outside the cabin so we could watch the squirrels. There is no better location in Idyllwild and this is as central as you can get. Once you arrive, you park your car and can walk everywhere from your cabin. There are restaurants, shopping, and even a market within walking distance. Now that my children have grown up, my husband and I enjoy staying in the "new rustic cabins." These are duplex units, but still retain the rustic cabin interiors and exteriors. They provide ample room for 2-4 people. There is a small kitchen with table and chairs, living room with fireplace, sofa & chair and a large bedroom and bath area. If you have a larger group you can book adjoining duplex units. I've been visiting Idyllwild for over 30 years and still love visiting the Idyllwild Inn.
We stayed in the “Indian” theme room. It was a beautiful room, everything in great working order and quiet.
The Inn is ideal to walk the town. Right next door... read more to Higher Grounds, a terrific coffee house, and close to lots of dining and shopping.
The people at the front desk were helpful and friendly.
In short, our stay exceeded our expectations and we will be back!
Terrific place in the town center! The owners, Josh & Emily, take great pride in their Inn continually making improvements! We truly look forward to each and visit!... read more This visit we noted the improvements in the room decorations as well as the bathroom! Well done! Keep it up!

TV in living area with good selection of viewing. DVD in room. Pro: well kept, kitchenette has microwave, stove, middle size frig, small sink, all dishes, utensils, pans, etc., separate bedroom, tub/shower combo, toilet with door, fan, central heating and air, deck with 2 plastic chairs, small table. Overlooks trees and several other buildings at distance. Parking in front of cabin. Five steps up to deck and front door level. Con: bed is older sagging queen, very small toilet area. Location is 2 small blocks walking distance to town center with shops and restaurants. So... bottom line is price was appropriate but make sure you understand the requirements and conditions of your stay before you make the reservation. We may or may not stay again but I will be looking for somewhere else in Idyllwild that is better.
The cabin was rustic yet updated, spacious and super clean. It had a fantastic deck under the pines. Ours was a one bedroom that was attached to another along one... read more wall. The decks were at least ten feet away from one another. The kitchen had a slove and a microwave, frig, sink & plates and utensils, even pots, etc. The family that owns this beauitful place for many years and all the people that work there couldn't be nicer. Oh, and I think it has the best location in town. Walk to Idyllwild Pizza & Red Kettle. Heard Ferro is really good, but it was closed the day we were there.
We have enjoyed our stay here many times. Our last trip was just a nice as all the others. It's a very convenient place to stay. Shopping... read more and restaurants are all in walking distance. It was very clean and the staff was great.

They supply you with your first night's firewood (along with a fire-starter). If you want more wood, it's $8 for a load, good for at least one night, and they deliver it to your door.
Some of the units are duplex (as was ours), so you have a neighbor - other units are simplex, with no direct neighbors.
We had a great deck. The local grocery store sells "critter food" - peanuts and sunflower seeds. These aren't for human consumption, but the stellar jays LOVE them, as do the squirrels.
You put the food on the deck railing, and just watch the fun!
The cabins are easy walking distance from the center of town, where we walked each day for coffee & breakfast.
It's a great place to say!
If you plan on visiting Idyllwild and bringing along your pet friend(s), you’ll be happy to know that we do allow up to 2 dogs in most of our cabins. Our only requirements are…
We’ve found that most dogs tend to bark due to the unfamiliar environment and wildlife surroundings
Several restaurants allow pet owners to eat on the deck with their animals.
Numerous shops and galleries don’t mind having your pets walk through with you. In fact, several of the shop owners bring their pets to work with them.
Several trails around Idyllwild allow dogs. Check with the local Forest Service Station to find out which ones, (951) 659-2117.
